One World Week take place from 12th - 20th November 2011.
During One World Week, young people get an opportunity to learn about global issues that affect their lives and how to take action to bring about change. It allows young people to reflect on what type of world we live in and what type of world we would like to live in.
The theme for this year its a ‘A Rich Man’s World?’. The theme is quite broad but involves issues to do with how our action effect people in other parts of the world, explore fair trade, sanctions, unequal power facing the world’s poorest, what it means to be in depth, be a Taoiseach for a day…… Dun Laoghaire Youth Information Centre has many resources on Global Justice that can be borrowed including ‘A Rich Man’s World?’, Framing Our World, Drinking from the Well, The Great Supermarket Challenge.
