- CAO
- If you are applying to a University or Institute of Technology, almost all the applications are made through the Central Applications Office (CAO). http://www.cao.ie/
There is also a CAO a handbook which lists the courses on offer and gives information on how to apply. If you need a handbook you can call in to us. - Direct entry
- Some applications to courses need to be made directly to certain colleges (e.g. colleges of further education) -always check with the college, or the CAO handbook under 'Applications to be made direct to Institutions'.
- Mature Students
- Mature Students are normally 23 or over on the 1st January of the year of entry and you must apply before the 1st February. However, some institutions have a different application procedure, different definitions of mature applicants, and some will consider applications received after the 1st February of year of entry.
In some cases you apply through the CAO form or in some cases you are required to apply direct or in other cases it is a combination of both.- therefore it is advisable to always contact the college. - Fees:
- Currently there are no fees for students - check back for any updates.
Most colleges do however charge a Registration Fee.
Fees are charged in Private Colleges. - Going To College in Great Britain and Northern Ireland
